Fight leads to shooting at Southern Hills Park

Shreveport Police say two juveniles fighting led to a shooting at Southern Hills Park Sunday afternoon.  The juvenile was shot in the hip and taken to the hospital for treatment. SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A shooting at a Shreveport park sent a teenager to the hospital Sunday afternoon.

It happened around 2:30 p.m. at Southern Hills Park.

Shreveport Police say Jamarcia Wade, 18, was fighting with another teen.  The fight escalated and Wade was shot in the upper thigh.  He was transported to University Health in Shreveport for treatment.  His wounds are considered non life-threatening.

Police spokesman Marcus Hines says witnesses at the scene reported seeing two juveniles running away from the scene.  

No arrests have been made.
