LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

The McNeese Cowboys' offensive success in 2013 was unexpected by many.

The cast is pretty much the same, but the result way different as the Pokes average just under 44 points a game, which is second in the nation. So, what's the difference? An attitude change.

Also, their somewhat humble Quarterback Cody Stroud is playing lights out. Coming into the year, he wasn't on a single ballot for Southland Conference honors but through six games, the senior is in the top three in passing yards, touchdowns and efficiency.

Stroud's growth goes beyond the stats, something his teammates have noticed, and for Stroud, the support is all that matters.

So, the Pokes' equation for success is simple.
