McNeese Tops UCA in Southland Opener 59-28

McNeese defeats Central Arkansas 49-28

The game was back and forth throughout the first half until the Cowboys scored 21 straight in the last 4:21 before half to make it 42-21.

Marcus Wiltz leading the game with 186 yards and a touchdown rushing and receiving. Diontae Spencer had 2 catches for 81 yards and two scores, while also throwing a 46 yard touchdown.

The Cowboys take the Red Beans and Rice Bowl back to Louisiana after losing the last three contests against the Bears. The Pokes also snap UCA's undefeated regular season streak on their purple and silver turf since installing it in 2008

McNeese is now 1-0 in conference with a bye week next week, before taking on Sam Houston State on the 19th for Homecoming.
