Saying Central Arkansas' Wynrick Smothers is a star would be an understatement.

The Senior was the 2012 Southland offensive player of the year. Smothers was one of the top quarterbacks in the league last year, leading the league in passing touchdowns (31) and ranking second in total offense (296.0), passing yards (3,103), passing yards per game (258.6) and passing efficiency (145.7).

Now his numbers have come closer to Earth this year (7 touchdowns and 6 interceptions through 4 games,) but he still poses a lethal threat every time he hits the field.

Smothers is also a Louisiana native. Originally from Destrahan, he loves playing against the in-state teams in the Southland, especially McNeese.

At Southland media days, he spoke about why him wearing the Blue and Gold never worked out.
