Stolen vehicle hits house, suspects flee on foot

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

Louisiana State Police are looking for two suspects who hit a house with a stolen truck and then fled on foot.

According to authorities, it happened around 6:30 p.m. at a home on Louisiana Avenue and Arkansas Street.

Troopers tried to stop the truck, but the driver refused to stop and engaged in a pursuit.

Troopers said the driver bailed right before the truck hit the home. The trooper then followed the driver on foot. The passenger reportedly also left the scene.

State Police and Lake Charles Police set up a perimeter around the neighborhood, but neither suspect was located.

At least two people were inside the home at the time of the crash, including a woman asleep in the bedroom, where the truck made impact.

Her family said she is shaken up, but otherwise okay.

State Police describe the driver as a black male with dreadlocks, approximately 5'9, wearing tan shorts and a green shirt. The passenger is described as a black male, wearing dark shorts and a yellow shirt.

Anyone with information is asked to contact authorities.
