Malina Sanchez Named Southland’s Offensive Player of the Week

McNeese sophomore outside hitter Malina Sanchez has been named this week's Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week after helping the Cowgirls to a perfect 3-0 record last week including Southland Conference wins over Abilene Christian and Incarnate Word.

Last week, Sanchez recorded double figure kills in two of three matches and both were match high's. She ended the week with 38 kills for an average of 3.80 per set and a .352 hitting percent. In a non-conference match against Prairie View, Sanchez recorded 10 kills with only one error for a .429 hitting percent.
 
Sanchez currently ranks second in the league and is 52nd in the nation in kills per set.
