Victim identified in fatal north Nashville shooting

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Metro police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened Monday evening in the Buena Vista neighborhood of north Nashville.

The shooting was reported just before 7 p.m. near the intersection of Delta Avenue and Garfield Street.

The victim has been identified as 29-year-old Lejuan A. Evans. He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he later was pronounced dead.

Officials say Evans was targeted with multiple gunshots.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing. No suspects have been named at this time, but detectives say they have strong leads.
