The burn ban for SWLA has been lifted, according to a news release from the State Fire Marshal's Office.

Fire Marshal H. "Butch" Browning and Agriculture and Forestry Commissioner Mike Strain have lifted the cease and desist order on outdoor burning issued on Sept. 17, 2013 for the following 32 Louisiana parishes:

Acadia, Allen, Avoyelles, Beauregard, Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Calcasieu, Caldwell, Catahoula, Claiborne, DeSoto, Evangeline, Franklin, Grant, Jackson, Jefferson Davis, Lafayette, LaSalle, Lincoln, Morehouse, Natchitoches, Ouachita, Rapides, Red River, Richland, Sabine, Union, Vernon, Webster, West Carroll, Winn.

Officials said effective Oct. 1 at 9 a.m., outdoor burning will be allowed.

The burning will be subject to any and all state, local government or fire department regulations or laws.

The public is urged to use caution in any activities involving outdoor burning.
