CALCASIEU PARISH, LA (KPLC) - The Louisiana Veterans Business Outreach Center held a workshop on Saturday in Lake Charles.
The purpose was to provide information on entrepreneurship opportunities for veterans post 9/11.
The center is one of 15 authorized by Congress in 2003 to assist veterans who are transitioning from the military to civilian life.
But Saturday's event is not the only outreach effort done by the center.
"We do other services as well as business for veterans that may need services in any category. We work with our resource partners: the McNeese Business Development Center and SCORE," said LVBOC President, Charles Achane.
He continued, "We are resource partners that work together in providing services for our veteran community and our comrades so that the transition back to civilian life can be as easy and productive as possible."
