TX Senator Ted Cruz stalls health vote all day and night

Good Wednesday morning to you!  Britney Glaser here with a look at what's in store on today's Sunrise:

*Move over Wendy Davis!  There's another Texas lawmaker stalling a vote by standing up and talking all day and night.  Find out what Senator Ted Cruz is doing to throw a wrench in today's senate vote on health care and the budget - including reading a Dr. Seuss book!

*State transportation officials want your input on a proposed project expanding I-10 between both intersections with I-210.  The proposal includes replacing the more than 50 year old I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge.  What do you think?  We'll tell you how to voice your opinion.

*The Calcasieu Parish School Board discusses budget finance management, as well as administrative personnel.  We'll have details on how the discussion became heated over the subject of substitute teacher compensation.

*An update on the story about the alleged stealing of a dog: after the story aired on KPLC, the owners got a call from a man who said he had the Chihuahua and wanted reward money.  Find out how the rest of the situation unfolded.

*The Kenyan mall hostage situation is over this morning and more bodies are expected to be recovered.  Find out how the stand-off came to an end.

    Deridder Fire Chief Kenneth Harlow says that the fire department received a call at 5:31 P.M. on August 19, 2018 regarding a fire at a Best Western on North Pine Street. After arriving on scene the fire department was able to safely evacuate everyone from the building. Chief Harlow says that the fire was contained by 7:00 P.M.
