Homeowners begin difficult cleanup after weekend flooding

Good Evening,

Lee Peck in the KPLC 7 Newsroom with a look at what we are working on for Nightcast.

The waters from this weekend's floods have started to recede, but now the real work begins. KPLC's Haley Rush talks with homeowners, who are beginning the difficult cleanup after the storm.

And we check in with Meteorologist Cedric Haynes on our rain chances as we begin our work week.

Plus, two Angola inmates are back in custody after an attempted escape from the Louisiana State Penitentiary. We'll tell you how they managed to get out and how far they got before guards caught up with the cell mates.

Also September is National Childhood Obesity Month. Tonight, KPLC's Gerron Jordan shows you how a local elementary school is stepping up to stay fit.

We'll see you tonight following NFL Football. Until then, we're always on at kplctv.com.
