Phil Robertson, Terry Bradshaw to attend Tech's Thursday game

RUSTON, LA (KSLA/Louisiana Tech Sports Information) -

Louisiana Tech will host two of its most famous alums on Thursday at Joe Aillet Stadium when the Bulldogs take on Tulane as Phil Robertson and Terry Bradshaw will be on the sidelines.

Tickets for Thursday's game – the annual Community Trust Bank RED OUT game – are still available through the LA Tech Ticket Office at 318-257-3631 or at LATechSports.com.

Bradshaw is one of only two quarterbacks in the history to have won four Super Bowl rings. The other, Joe Montana, will be in attendance as his son Nick is the starting quarterback for Tulane.

Robertson was the quarterback for Louisiana Tech from 1965 to 1967 before leaving the game and earning his degree. He finished his Louisiana Tech career with 2,237 passing yards, going 180-for-411 with 12 touchdowns and 34 interceptions. He has recently been made famous as the Duck Commander on the A&E hit show Duck Dynasty. During his first two years on campus he was coached by Hall of Famer Joe Aillet while Maxie Lambright took over the reigns of the program in 1967, Robertson's final year of playing.

Bradshaw took over for Robertson in 1968 as Louisiana Tech Stadium – now known as Joe Aillet Stadium – opened its doors. The future Hall of Fame quarterback threw the first touchdown pass in the stadium's history as he guided the Bulldogs to a 35-7 win over East Carolina on Sept. 28, 1968 in the new stadium's first game. The previous week, in the '68 season opener, Bradshaw led Louisiana Tech to a 20-13 win at Mississippi State.

"The Blonde Bomber" would go on to throw for 6,589 yards in the ol' Red and Blue with 39 touchdowns and 42 interceptions. He then became the school's first No. 1 draft pick in the NFL Draft and went on to a storied career with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Thursday's game against Tulane marks the school's first league game as a member of Conference USA. Tickets are available for as low as $20.
