New rules for Sulphur sex offenders

SULPHUR, LA (KPLC) -

The Sulphur City Council unanimously approved new rules for sex offenders on Monday night.

Under the new rules, all sex offenders must pay a $200-a-year fee.

New sex offenders must pay a one-time $600 fee, plus the $200 fee.

Sulphur Police Chief Lewis Coates said the extra money is needed to cover the cost of police overtime for compliance checks.
