Waffle House in west Nashville robbed

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A Waffle House restaurant in west Nashville was robbed Monday morning.

The suspect entered the restaurant at 6930 Charlotte Pike near the intersection of White Bridge Road about 4:30 a.m.

The suspect had a semi-automatic pistol. He demanded money and ordered one of the two employees to the floor.

He ordered the other employee to open the cash register and give him the money inside.

The suspect is described as being a black male around 5'6" in height, about 180 pounds and in his mid 20s. He had black hair, was wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans. He had a white shirt wrapped around his face. His race was not identified.

Police said the suspect fled on foot from the scene. Police K-9 units responded to the scene, but were unable to locate the suspect.
