The hard work of the McNeese football team has finally paid off.
After the big win in Tampa (53-21) the cowboys are ranked number 18 in the Sports Network Poll and number 20 in the FCS Coaches Poll.

In addition, two Cowboy players were recognized and also awarded.

Nic Jacobs was named the CFPA's National Tight End of the Week, and senior cornerback Guy Morgan was named the National Defensive Player of the Week by College Football Performance Awards and College Sports Madness organizations.

Both players were recognized by the Southland Conference as Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week.

Head Coach Matt Viator says he is very proud of the teams accomplishments.
