Schools opt out of federal lunch program

Good Wednesday morning to you!  Britney Glaser here in the KPLC 7Newsroom with a look at what's ahead on today's Sunrise:

*Many schools across the country say they are dropping out of the healthier new federal lunch program that has only been in place for a year.  What's being the program dismissal?  We'll look into that this morning.

*Speaking of healthy food, an effort is underway to make sure kids in daycare in private homes eat healthy.  Hear how the "Family Daycare Home Food Program" works and what's being done to implement it in Southwest Louisiana.

*Today is the day: the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington and Dr. Martin Luther King's famous "I have a dream" speech.  Big plans are happening all over the country.  Find out what's in store with today's celebrations, including an event in Lake Charles.

*The City of Lake Charles delivers its budget plan for the upcoming fiscal year to the city council.  Revenues are up slightly, but so are costs.  We'll break down the numbers.
