NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Cory Batey, who earlier Friday was denied a bond change in court, has posted bond this afternoon and been released from jail.

Batey was allowed to pay $25,000 to one bonding company and was released from jail at 1:59 p.m., according to the Davidson County Sheriff's Office website.

According to the bond conditions, Batey will wear a electronic monitoring device.

Earlier Friday, Worrick Robinson, Batey's attorney, told Channel 4 News that Batey's family needed to raise about $5,000 more to make the $25,000 bail in order to make the bond.

Batey, along with three other former Vanderbilt football players, stand accused of raping an unconscious woman inside an on-campus dorm room.

Batey appeared in court Friday morning in an attempt to get his $350,000 bond altered.

Robinson fought to have Batey's bond split between two bonding companies that had agreed to lower the standard 10 percent payment Batey would have to pay to get out.

However, Judge Monte Watkins ruled that Batey would have to pay $25,000 to a single bonding company.

Prosecutors said based on video evidence in this case that they thought $350,000 was an appropriate bond.

After the hearing, Robinson said coming up with an additional $5,000 by the Batey family would be tough.

Brandon Vandenburg is the only former player charged that remains in a Metro jail on Friday. Brandon Banks and Jaborian "Tip" McKenzie bonded out earlier this week.

All four players are charged with five counts of aggravated rape and two counts of aggravated sexual battery. Vandenburg has also been charged with one count of tampering with evidence and one count of unlawful photography.

The four athletes have been at the center of the investigation that began in June after a reported sexual assault in a Vanderbilt University campus dorm.

Vanderbilt officials then banned the four from campus and kicked them off the football team for what was called a violation of team rules.

Police said the investigation revealed the four allegedly raped an unconscious victim inside Vandenburg's room at Gillette House dormitory in the early morning hours of Sunday, June 23.

According to the indictment, Vandenburg photographed the victim and distributed that picture.

Metro police detectives began investigating after they were notified by Vanderbilt University police, who said an unrelated situation captured by the dorm's hallway surveillance system revealed concerning behavior by the suspects.
