The National Hurricane Center has downgraded Tropical Storm Erin to Tropical Depression Erin.

Erin has winds sustained around 35 mph. The storm is located about 540 miles west of the Cape Verde Islands. Erin is moving to the west-northwest around 17 mph.

Conditions have become very hostile with the storm as it encounters some less than favorable conditions in the central Atlantic.

The latest computer models and official Hurricane Center track continues to take Erin to the west-northwest over the next five to seven days. The storm is over 4,000 miles away from SWLA.

Depend on the 7 Stormteam to continue monitoring the very latest on Tropical Depression Erin.
