Good Wednesday morning to you! Britney Glaser here in the KPLC 7Newsroom with a look at what's ahead on today's Sunrise, including a breaking news situation in rural Louisiana:
*A hostage situation in Northeast Louisiana is over this morning. State Police shot and killed the man that took three people hostage inside a St. Joseph bank. One of those hostages died early this morning, one remains hospitalized and one was freed yesterday afternoon.
*Southwest Louisiana students are all back to school today! That means school zones on area roadways will be enforced again. We'd love to share your first day of school pictures on Sunrise. Just post them to our 7News Sunrise facebook page.
*Our newsroom has received a lot of feedback about a situation in Beauregard Parish involving dozens of animals at a residence. Find out why animal rescuers are concerned about the care of these animals and how you can help in the rehabilitation of the dogs that have been taken away from the property.
*The Pentagon is expected to announce today that same-sex spouses of military members will be eligible for benefits as early as next month. We'll preview that anticipated decision and tell you how far-reaching it is.
Make it a Sunrise day!
