Jason Little named McNeese head strength and conditioning coach

LAKE CHARLES – McNeese has announced the hiring of Jason Little as the athletic department's head strength and conditioning coach.

Little replaces Zeb Hawkins who resigned at the end of July to enter into the private sector.

Little is an established strength coach that has built a very professional and positive reputation in the high school ranks.

A 1989 graduate of Mississippi State where he received his bachelor's degree in health and sports performance, he began his career in July of 1990 at Charleston High School in Charleston, Mississippi as the school's strength coach as well as the offensive and defensive line coach.

He has also had stops at Opelousas Catholic High School, Bishop Sullivan High, Elton High School, Vidor High School, Vinton High, Longview High School, South Cameron High School, St. Martinville High School and Livonia High School.

In nine seasons at Longview HS, he a part of six district championships, two state runners-up and nine playoff appearances.

In his 22 years as a strength and conditioning coach, Little has coached and developed student-atheles that went on to win nine football district championships.

It had been five years since World War II and Ed Wilcox found himself serving his country in the National Guard. Wilcox was too young to serve in the war, but felt the guard could keep him trained.

    Three suspects in a homicide at an RV park on Broad Street Saturday morning have been arrested, according to the Lake Charles Police Department. LCPD responded to a 911 call in reference to an armed robbery and shooting at the Twelve Palms RV Park around 6 a.m. Saturday, July 22.
