CALCASIEU PARISH, LA (KPLC) -

Responding to the high temperatures this week, the Calcasieu Council on Aging has opened several cooling stations for residents.

The cooling stations will provide air-conditioned rooms for those dealing with the heat, especially for senior citizens.

Those locations include the Allen August Multi-Purpose Annex, the Lake Charles Senior Center and the CCOA Complex in Lake Charles, along with senior centers in Vinton, Sulphur, Westlake, Moss Bluff and Iowa.

The cooling centers will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday.

For more information, call the CCOA at 474-2583.
