An Oakdale man is accused of child pornography possession, according to a news release from Louisiana State Police, Troop D.

Authorities said on Tuesday, agents with the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations and the Oakdale Police Department executed a search warrant at the residence of 61-year-old Timothy L. Wade.

Troopers said at the time of the search, computers and software were seized for a detailed forensic examination.

Troopers said the warrant was the result of an Operation Child Watch investigation initiated by State Police detectives involving child pornography allegedly downloaded at the residence.

"An initial examination of the computers revealed the presence of child pornography files. During questioning, Wade admitted to downloading child pornography. Wade was then booked into the Allen Parish Jail," the release states.

Troopers said if convicted, Wade faces up to a $50,000 fine and from five to 20 years in prison without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence.

Troopers said the mission of Operation Child Watch is to rescue children from the potential abuse of child predators by targeting those individuals with sexually explicit images and/or videos on their computers.
