1 in custody, others sought in north Nashville home invasion

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Following a chase that lasted about an hour Wednesday morning, police arrested a woman in connection with a home invasion in north Nashville.

The break-in happened around 4 a.m. at a home in the 4500 block of Clarksville Pike.

A man, his 15-year-old nephew and two others were at the home when four young men with guns broke in through a sliding-glass door.

The man said he was able to barricade himself inside a room and called 911.

"I was scared to death. I was thinking about that movie with Halle Berry, The Call. I was thinking, 'Hope they don't get me killed,'" said robbery victim Rick Lewis.

The resident said the home invaders may know his nephew, who was held at gunpoint while the others robbed the home, loading at least one car with a television and other items.

"They took a lot of things, but they didn't hurt us, so we thank God for that," Lewis said.

The robbers left one of their SUVs at the victim's house before fleeing the scene.

Police chase after home invasion

After being notified of the break-in, police located a vehicle driven by the home invaders at about 4:47 a.m. Officers tried to stop the vehicle and a low-speed pursuit started near 26th Avenue and Buchanan Street.

At some point, a woman jumped out of the moving car. The police quickly arrested the woman, and she told officers that the four that were still in the car were responsible for the home invasion.

Speeds reached up to 90 mph while on Briley Parkway.

One person later bailed out of the car around Snell Road and Bordeaux Gardens Park.

At one point, the car being chased tried to run two of the police vehicles off the road. Police say three to four people connected to the home invasion and police chase got away.

We still don't know whether the woman police interviewed has been arrested.

    Daniel Kight was found guilty of second degree murder today during his murder trial.  Kight pleaded not guilty due to reason of insanity after gruesomely murdering David Scasino. Prosecutors say Scasino was stabbed at least fifty times and his body was mutilated. After Kight visited a state appointed a psychologist, Judge Robert Wyatt had to base the decision on whether Kight knew right from wrong at the time of the offense.  Kight's sentencing is set at 1:30 p.m. on
