Good morning!

Agnes DeRouen in the KPLC 7 Newsroom with a look at what we're working on for 7News@Noon.

The founding bishop of the Diocese of Lake Charles has died. Bishop Jude Speyrer passed away at the age of 84 over the weekend. You can read more HERE. We'll tell you about upcoming services at noon.

Also today, a landscaper comes to the rescue of a little boy who nearly drowned in a pool. Now, the man is being hailed as a hero.

Plus, scammers are taking advantage of a more people who serve our country. We'll show you how a growing number of military men and women – especially those in their early 20's – are becoming targets of consumer fraud.

In weather, Ben tells me expect a hot one. He says the heat index was already 90 degrees before sunrise and will only climb as the day wears on. We could see some passing showers in the afternoon, but the chance of rain is only about 30 percent. What about the rest of our work week?  Check out Ben's live, local forecast at noon.

Remember, you can always watch us online at and on air. We hope you join us, and have a great day!
