SAU Football Fan Rally set for Texarkana

With the 2013 Southern Arkansas football season now just 52 days away, the Mulerider Football Fan Rally is set to make its second stop of the summer as it will be at the Texarkana Convention Center in Texarkana, Texas on Wednesday, July 17 from 5 – 6:30 p.m.

Fans in attendance will have the chance to personally meet head football coach Bill Keopple and be able to hear Coach Keopple provide a spirited preview of the highly-anticipated upcoming season. All fans will also be entered to win various door prizes at the event as well.

Last year under Coach Keopple, the Muleriders went 8-3 with an appearance in the Heart of Texas Bowl. They also ranked in the top-25 nationally in six categories (five offensive and one defensive). This year, the Muleriders return key offensive starters in senior quarterback Tyler Sykora and senior running back Mark Johnson. Both Johnson and Sykora were All-GAC and All-Super Region Three performers a year ago. Key defensive returners for the Muleriders include a trio of senior linebackers in Sam Cowling, Tate Mustin, and Mark Spaight. The trio combined for 174 total tackles with 18.5 coming for lost yardage.
