SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Elbert Knox was last seen walking down Kemp Lane in Shreveport's Martin Luther King neighborhood on a Saturday afternoon -- 11 days ago.

Family members say Knox suffers from hypertension and schizophrenia and needs medication. But they are especially concerned about the heat, which Knox might be exposed to if he is out in the elements.

Search efforts last week included cadaver dogs, and focused on areas where he was last seen or known to go. Hines says a pond north of the city was also searched. Now, police are still keeping an eye out for Knox, but they are no longer actively searching.

Anyone with information on Knox's possible whereabouts is asked to contact Shreveport Police immediately at (318) 673-7300 or (318) 510-3162.
