Good morning!

Agnes DeRouen in the KPLC 7 Newsroom with a look at what we're working on for 7News@Noon.

Nineteen members of an elite firefighting crew perish in an out-of-control fire northwest of Phoenix, Arizona. We're told the firefighters died while trying to protect themselves from the flames with fire-resistant shields. We'll have more on what happened at noon, and you can also read more HERE.

Here in Lake Charles, Mayor Randy Roach and the City Council will be sworn in at noon at the Lake Charles Civic Center. We'll take you there live.

Imagine this: You're trying to get a pedicure, but the salon tells refuses to give you the service because of your size. It happened to one woman and you can find out what happened HERE.

In the United Kingdom, some folks are upset after the Queen's income is released. We'll let you know how much she earned last year.

Plus, some baby swans at risk of falling prey to bald eagles are taken away from their parents and moved to a new home with a new, special, mom.

In weather, Cedric says we should expect sunny skies and pleasant conditions for the next few days. That "pleasant" part of the forecast is due to reduced humidity levels. It's kind of an unusual treat at this time of year. Cedric says while it may get close to 90 degrees, there's not much of a heat index – so enjoy it, while you can! Can we expect any rain later in the week?   And what about our 4th of July? Tune in for all the details during Cedric's live, local forecast at noon.

Remember, you can always watch us online at kplctv.com and on air. We hope you join us, and have a great day!

It was another day of political gridlock on Capitol Hill as members of the Senate made another push to repeal and replace Obamacare. Republican senators are drafting a proposal which likely won't include any replacement ideas but a "Skinny repeal" that would take out unpopular parts of the Affordable Care Act. Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy explained today how the repeal would impact Americans.

For years we've heard about the need for a new I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge. There is a time line and an upcoming public meeting is part of the process of determining what will happen and when. Though the discussion is usually about a new I-10 bridge, the proposed project includes improvements between I-10 and 210 interchanges. The bridge has safety issues because of how steep it is, congestion,  no shoulders and short entrance ramps that don't meet today's design ...
