According to the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office, Paul Charles, 22, of Morgan City, La., was taken into custody at his home on Friday on a warrant for attempted first degree murder and attempted robbery with a firearm.

The warrant was executed by Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office and the Morgan City Police.

According to a news release from the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office, the warrant stems from a shooting that occurred on June 14, outside of a lounge located on Hwy. 182 in Amelia. The victim has since been released from the hospital and is continuing to recover.
