DEQUINCY, LA (KPLC) -

Jon Dickerson, the man accused in the 2009 DeQuincy murder of Darrell Schuab, has been sentenced to life in prison in 14th Judicial District Court.

The sentencing took place Thursday before Judge Kent Savoie.

Dickerson will not have the benefit of probation, parole or suspension, according to Holly Carter, a spokesperson for the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney's Office.

Last week, a jury found Dickerson guilty in Schuab's murder. He had been charged with second-degree murder in the case.

His life sentence with hard labor will be served with the Louisiana Department of Corrections.
