SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Family and friends gathered Wednesday night to pray for the return of a Shreveport man who hasn't been seen since Saturday.

50-year-old Elbert Knox of the 2600 block of Circle Drive was last seek walking down Kemp Lane in Shreveport on Saturday afternoon.

"He may be gone an hour but he's back at home," Knox's youngest sister Elaine Smith explained Monday. " This is very unusual for him, he's never done this before."

Family members say Knox suffers from hypertension and schizophrenia and needs medication, but they are especially concerned because of the heat he may be exposed to if he is out in the elements.

Knox's older sister Lovie Collier said "What scares me the most is that I don't want anybody to hurt him. We don't know where he's at. He doesn't know where he's at and he needs his medicine and he needs food."

Knox is described as a black male, approximately five feet seven inches tall and weighing 200 pounds.  Knox was last seen wearing dark blue athletic shorts, a blue shirt with white stripes and black shoes.  Knox also has a scar over his left eyebrow.

The search will continue Thursday morning at 7:30 a.m., as teams meet at David Raines Rd. and MLK to coordinate a search of the neighborhood and surrounding areas. Some will be knocking on doors, while others will be walking through the brush.

Anyone with information on Knox's possible whereabouts is asked to contact Shreveport Police immediately at (318) 673-7300 or (318) 510-3162.

We only saw around 70-percent coverage during the eclipse, but that didn't stop residents and students from getting hyped up about it. At Sam Houston High School, Sara Blankenship's Biology class shifted gears to learn about this major event, a total solar eclipse. The first time we've seen one across the US in a while and 9th grade students like Allison Hull and Ben Martin are excited. “I think it’s really cool because 99 years ago was the last total one which is what ...

While many people across the United States watched today's solar eclipse with special eclipse glasses, some students at Dequincy Elementary had a different option.  Smiles were on many faces of the third graders at the school, who were able to view the solar eclipse through a special Dobsonian telescope. This was all thanks to a local amateur Astronomer, Blake Gaspard.  Gaspard heard the school was interested in safe activities for the eclipse so he off...
