Overnight fire in Lake Charles destroys home

Good Monday morning to you!  Britney Glaser here in the KPLC 7Newsroom with a look at what's ahead on today's Sunrise:

*Our top story this morning: a huge overnight fire leaves a home west of Lake Charles just a pile of rubble.  We have video from the scene where several agencies worked to extinguish the fire.

*Two homicides in Crowley are under investigation after two people were found dead.  In the first, a 26-year-old woman is in custody accused of murder.  The second involves a 40-year-old man.

*Today is the day that Moss Regional Hospital in Lake Charles is officially turned over to Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.  Some services will also be handled by West Cal-Cam Hospital.  We'll tell you what's in store and share details about a walk-through KPLC will have with the new hospital administrator this morning.

*The summer time brings with it an overpopulation of homeless pets in Southwest Louisiana.  We're opening the Sunrise Pet Shop this morning to introduce you to one of the animals in need of a forever family.

Make it a Sunrise day!
