CALCASIEU PARISH, LA (KPLC) -

A Sulphur man is accused of trying to run over two people with his car at a nightclub.

Kristian J. Gaudet, 36, faces two charges of aggravated assault and one count of stalking, according to a news release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office. He has been released on $30,000 bond.

Authorities said on June 18, at approximately 3 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a Sulphur nightclub in reference to a man attempting to strike two victims with his car.

Authorities said upon arrival, deputies found Gaudet attempting to flee the scene.

He was arrested without incident.

"During further investigation, deputies discovered Gaudet had been stalking the victim, an ex-acquaintance, for several days. On this occasion, Gaudet waited outside the nightclub and when the victims got into their car to leave, Gaudet drove toward their vehicle at a high rate of speed," authorities said in the release.
