SULPHUR, LA (KPLC) -

A grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Thursday morning for "The Grove" at Heritage Square in Sulphur.

The park, bounded by Huntington, Pecan, Tamarack and South Ruth streets, features fountains, landscaped walking paths, sitting areas, a stage and Wi-Fi.

Sulphur officials said "The Grove" brings a new concept to the SPAR Park System as it makes natural settings available to the public in an urban environment.

Officials said the park is the latest chapter of a decade of development originating from the Henning House, Brimstone Museum and the City of Sulphur's Heritage Pavilion.
