TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

Tyler Police say they have issued an arrest warrant in the murder of a man in a Tyler motel Saturday morning.

Lawrence Charles Murphy, Jr., a 20-year-old black male, is a suspect, police say, in the homicide that occurred at the American Inn at 1800 West Erwin in Tyler. Murphy is approximately 5' 8" tall and weighs around 170 pounds.

A warrant charging Murphy with murder has been signed by Judge Jack Skeen, and bond on that warrant is set at $1,000,000.

Since a firearm was used in the murder, Murphy is considered to be armed and extremely dangerous. Police ask that anyone with information concerning this case or the whereabouts of Murphy contact Crimestoppers at (903)597-2833 or Tyler Police at (903)531-1000.

The investigation continues to determine the identities of the other people in the room when the incident occurred.

For the rest of today we will continue to see cloudy skies and not many breaks in the clouds. The front that came to us yesterday has stalled and is moving back to the north. This will take just about all of the rain up with it. Therefore, we should not see as much rain today. There could still be a few small showers, but not everyone will see rain. Temperatures will be warm once again, and will reach the upper 70s, near 80 degrees.
