CAMERON PARISH, LA (KPLC) -

A tropical funnel cloud developed over portions of Cameron Parish on Wednesday afternoon.

The funnel possibly touched down just east of the Cameron Ferry.

A very warm and moist air mass helps to aid in tropical funnel clouds during the summertime in Southwest Louisiana.

During most occasions, these funnels are not dangerous.

If a tropical funnel was to touch the ground, a Tornado Warning would be issued.

Due to the unstable and moist air mass across the area, the threat will continue over the next few days.
