Lake Charles council to meet Wednesday, black dust issue on agenda

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - Several issues of interest go before the Lake Charles City Council on Wednesday evening.

A large crowd is expected as members of the panel will decide on the fate of Industrial Carbon.

The company is under fire for the black dust it was producing in a residential neighborhood in Lake Charles.

The Lake Charles Planning and Zoning Board shot down the company last month when officials sought a special exception to allow them to use other buildings on their site to continue work.

KPLC's Lee Peck will be at the meeting and will have coverage on later editions.
