SULPHUR, LA (KPLC) -

The City of Sulphur Farmers' Market offers residents an opportunity to shop local fresh produce, eggs, jam and other homemade products.

The farmers' market is open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at Sulphur's Heritage Square under the pavilion.

This is the third year for the farmers market and they average about 8 to 10 vendors per weekend.

"If you want something that is fresh from the garden to the table - this is the perfect place for it. Our produce isn't shipped in and it's locally grown by local farmers. And we even have local honey - that's here every Saturday as well. And a man who makes fresh food, so you can bring your family and have breakfast here at the market," said Tia LeBrun, City of Sulphur Farmers Market.

Among the other specialty items homemade products for bath and body, including soap. There is also a vendor who makes homemade jewelry.

Anyone who wants to sign up to be a vendor can sign up at Sulphur City Hall.

The City of Sulphur Farmers Market goes on through mid September. LeBrun said they are working to find an indoor facility so they can be open all year round.
