Live interview on program to combat obesity in SWLA

Good Tuesday morning to you!  Britney Glaser here in the KPLC 7Newsroom with a look at what's in store on today's Sunrise:

*The number of overweight and obese people in Southwest Louisiana is soaring - 37 percent in Calcasieu Parish alone.  Tune in for a live interview on a free program to get local folks walking and on a path to healthier living.

*We're learning more this morning about the man who leaked top-secret information about the government's phone and e-mail surveillance programs.  The hunt is on for 29-year-old Edward Snowden.  Find out why the government wants to find him before one of our enemies does.

*Two witches and a snitch: that best describes this week's new offerings in home entertainment!  There are also a couple of TV series that could make good Father's Day gifts.  We'll have your video view.

*I'll tell you about a new clinical trial open to families in our area that hopes to link a person's genes to autism.

Make it a Sunrise day!

FIRST ALERT FORECAST: Warmer temperatures this weekend with a few likely showers

    Thursday, January 18 2018 12:12 PM EST2018-01-18 17:12:32 GMT
Cloudy, yet low rain chance on FridayCloudy, yet low rain chance on Friday

For the rest of today, the sun will continue to shine! Temperatures will warm up a little quicker today, and should reach the 40s. There is little to no chance for any rain, so we will continue to have road conditions improve with no more added water to the surface. There should not be any more major road hazards after today. Tonight, temperatures will not be quite as cold. We will still be at or below the freezing mark, though. North of I-10 will still see the 20s.
