Moss Regional Layoffs

Just a week after the Civil Service Commission announced it was against privatization at LSU run hospitals, the Commission did an about-face today... So it's now approving the deal that would lead to thousands of layoffs, including at Moss Regional Hospital in Lake Charles. So the takeover of services by Memorial Hospital and West Cal-Cam is continuing to move forward.

Soldiers from Fort Polk are getting ready for another deployment. The Army says about 1200 officers and soldiers from the Infantry Brigade Combat Team based at Fort Polk will be deployed to Afghanistan next month. The deployment only involves a fraction of the 34 hundred soldiers in the 4th Infantry Division of the 10th Brigade.

Lake Charles Police continue to investigate the weekend murder at an apartment complex on Iris Street. Police arrested 18 year old Cody Lucero of Kinder for the 2nd degree murder of 18 year old Edward Wilkes. Details on these stories and a look at a hot work week ahead...
