BAKER, LA (WAFB) -

According to the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner's Office, dental records were used to get the official identity of the pilot who's plane crashed into a Baker, LA neighborhood Friday.

The coroner reports that the pilot, 71-year-old John Fowler of Brookhaven, MS died from blunt force, thermal and inhalation injuries, according to the autopsy. They ruled his death an accident.

Fowler was the only person on the plane when it crashed.

Federal Aviation Administration Officials say it could be a while before Baker residents will be able to get back into their homes after a private plane crashed in a neighborhood, hitting three homes, and killing the pilot.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board have the crash scene roped off. They are collecting pieces from the wreckage. They say they have to carefully examine the scene and reconstruct the plane's final moments.

The Beechcraft King Air went down Friday afternoon along Rue Jennifer, just minutes after takeoff from the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport. Officials say when the plane went down it clipped one house and a tree. The plane then spun around and hit two more homes. The plane burst into flames and caught the two homes on fire.

The crash was almost four miles from the Baton Rouge Airport.

Baker is about 13 miles north of Baton Rouge.

Nice weather on MondayNice weather on Monday

Through the rest of tonight, we will have clear skies with rain chances down to zero. Temperatures will cool down to the upper 30s to the low 40s tonight, so it will be cooler from last night. With the clouds clearing, that will allow temperatures to quickly fall. Frost is possible north of I-10! Monday will be another beautiful day! Highs will remain in the mid 60s with mostly sunny skies. There could be a few more clouds in the afternoon, but none that will bring any rain.
