CLAYTON COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

Former Atlanta Hawks basketball star Daron "Mookie" Blaylock was granted bond Tuesday after facing charges related to a deadly crash.

Blaylock, 46, was hospitalized following a traffic accident on Tara Boulevard in Clayton County late last month. On Monday he was released from the hospital and turned himself in to Jonesboro police.

Police said Blaylock's car hit a van injuring the van's passenger, Monica Murphy, who later died at the hospital.

Jonesboro police Chief Franklin Allen said Sunday that Blaylock is charged with driving on a suspended license and failing to stay in his lane.

Blaylock was granted a $250,000 bond, but has yet to bond out of the Clayton County Jail.

Talks with prosecutors will determine whether Blaylock will face other charges.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Blaylock has an active warrant in an unrelated DUI case. A hold was placed on him in Spalding County.

In fact, here in Calcasieu Parish, it would be cheaper to send each voter to see a movie, than it is to let them in the voting booth. Lynn Jones loves elections!  And why not. He's been involved in the electoral ...

Months of undercover work led Calcasieu's Combined Anti-Drug Team (CAT) to perform a drug raid on two homes in Lake Charles back in late October. Six were arrested and booked, but one of those suspects was able to get back on the streets that same day, leaving many upset, including city council member Luvertha August.
