Top-ranked LSU punched their ticket to the College World Series in Omaha. LSU swept Oklahoma in two Super Regional games to tie a school record with 57 victories on the anniversary of the legendary Warren Morris walk-off home run.
They beat the Sooners 11-1 in front of a record-breaking crowd at Alex Box Stadium. A school-record 11,401 fans saw Junior Jacoby Jones go 4-for-4 with a home run and a hustling double, scoring two runs and driving in two more.
Ryan Eades and three relievers held Oklahoma (43-21) to just five hits and one run, getting the backing of several sterling defensive plays highlighted by Raph Rhymes two out leaping catch at the left field wall that robbed Garrett Carey of extra bases and an RBI.
LSU (57-9) will make its 16th trip to the CWS and try to earn the school's seventh National Championship.
