More rain chances ahead, plus dogs take over the Civic Center

Lee Peck in the KPLC 7 Newsroom with a look at what we are working on today.

We've had some heavy rain and strong gusty winds today. We've also received reports of hail in the Sulphur area. And it appears the rough weather isn't over. Meteorologist Cedric Haynes will start us off tonight with all the details.

A body has been found inside a car that belonged to a missing New Orleans School teacher in a bayou near Wisner. Terrilynn Monett has been missing since March 2. A diver found the vehicle, whose license plate matches that of Monette's car.

Also, more information tonight on that deadly plane crash near Baton Rouge.

Plus, the Lake Charles Civic Center was full of activity this weekend. The first brought families together for the Safe Sleep Baby Shower. The event is teaching parents and expectant mothers on how to safely place babies to sleep to reduce Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

And over in the coliseum it was all about the dogs. The Calcasieu and Acadiana Kennel Clubs are holding their annual dog show. We'll show you some of the dogs looking to take home the blue ribbon.
