NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Quick response from a Metro police detective led to the arrest of a man accused of burglarizing an east Nashville home and assaulting the woman who lives there.

Keandre Burkley, 23, is suspected of trying to force his way into the garage of a Meridian Street home about 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The resident saw Burkley and went outside, yelling for him to leave the property.

Burkley then allegedly grabbed the woman's hair and pushed her down before she was able to run back inside and call 911, according to police.

An undercover detective working in the area heard the call and responded to find Burkley still at the home. Another officer soon arrived and assisted in arresting Burkley, who is charged with burglary, assault and resisting arrest.

Bond for Burkley is set at $24,000.
