Local veterans pleading for new VA clinic

Good Thursday morning to you!  Britney Glaser here in the KPLC 7Newsroom with a look at what's ahead on today's Sunrise:

*Veterans of Southwest Louisiana are still waiting on a permanent VA clinic, but new congressional rules have stalled the funding.  Find out what they had to say in their plea to the Lake Charles City Council last night.

*Tragic news out of Grand Lake: a 12-year-old boy is dead after an accidental shooting while playing with his friend.

*Another cruelty to animals case in Southwest Louisiana, this time in Jennings involving the killing of horses.  We'll talk to the man who believes he knows who is responsible.

*Injuries and illnesses for wild animals can be deadly in their natural environments, making them an easy target for predators.  In this morning's Healthcast, I'll take you inside a local wildlife rehabilitation center where these animals are nursed back to health.

*There's no excuse for boredom this summer with area kiddos!  In a live interview, find out what's in store with McNeese State University Leisure Learning.

Make it a Sunrise day!
