Elvis exhibit to be featured at Historic City Hall

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - The City of Lake Charles will host "Elvis: Grace and Grit" at Historic City Hall Arts and Cultural Center this summer.

The opening reception will take place on Friday, June 14 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. All ages are welcome at no charge. The exhibition will hang through Sept. 7.

"Elvis: Grace and Grit" looks at the early years of superstardom through his many CBS appearances.

Shot by various CBS Television photographers, the exhibit contains 35 large format candid and on air photographs that document Elvis before the Las Vegas years during the meteoric rise of this star.

The exhibition is on national tour by ArtVision Exhibitions from Boca Raton, Florida.

Historic City Hall is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Admission is free, but donations are accepted.
