The McNeese baseball team lost to Southeastern last night while Nicholls State beat Lamar, and that is bad news for Cowboys fans.

With the Cowboys and the Colonels now tied for 8th place in the Southland Conference standings, McNeese needs some wins and some help to clinch a spot in the Southland tournament next week.

Game 2 against Southeastern tonight at Cowboy Diamond.

Tied at 1 Bot 3, Jackson Gooch fly ball RF line, Aaron Haag nice sliding catch to end inning

Bot 4, 2 on, Tate Scioneaux strikes out Tyler Klouser to end threat

Top 5, Ladd Rhodes grounds to short, Connor Lloyd throws to 3rd and Josh Watkins looks safe but called out! Lions are not happy, McNeese gets out of trouble

Bot 5 Jackson Gooch line drive up middle, CF misplays it and that brings in Andrew Guillotte, here comes Chayse Marion, Cowboys take 3-1 lead

And the Cowboys hang on to win 3-to-1 to get to 10-and-16 in the conference.
