Detours planned for I-65 at Horse Cave

BOWLING GREEN, KY (WAVE) – If you travel Interstate 65 between Bowling Green and Elizabethtown, get ready for some traffic changes.

Beginning Wednesday, May 29, northbound lanes of I-65 at the Exit 58 interchange at Horse Cave will close due to new beams being set on the bridge over I-65.

Traffic will be detoured up the ramp, across KY 218, and back on to I-65. This work will begin at midnight and continue until 5 a.m. Thursday morning, May 30.

On the evening of May 30 the southbound lanes of I-65 will be closed and detoured, in similar fashion, over the Exit 58 interchange beginning at midnight and continuing until 5 am Friday, May 31. Flagmen will also be present to help guide motorist up and on and off the existing Horse Cave (Exit 58) ramps.

Delays are anticipated, especially for traffic exiting and entering from KY 218 at Horse Cave. The Kentucky Department of Transportation advices motorists to plan alternate routes during the closure periods.
