CPSB meeting set for today to cut 100+ teacher jobs

Good Thursday morning to you!  Britney Glaser here in the KPLC 7Newsroom with a look at what's in store on today's Sunrise:

*A big meeting for the Calcasieu Parish School Board's Budget Committee is set for this afternoon.  At issue: a plan to cut more than 100 teacher positions to deal with a multi-million dollar budget shortfall.

*Also happening today, the National Council of Boy Scouts of America is expected to cast its final vote on a resolution to allow openly gay members.

*Progress is made on a bill in the state legislative session to shrink the gender pay gap.  Find out who this applies to and where it goes from here.

*When we think about tough jobs, working in the funeral industry is probably pretty close to the top of that list.  While working in death care can be emotionally and mentally draining, a Lake Charles man has found his calling cremating pets in the region's only retail pet crematory.

*Lots of viewers have written in and called KPLC over the past 12 hours about swarms of termites.  We'll tell you what you can do to address the problems of these flying bugs.

Make it a Sunrise day!
