LACASSINE, LA (KPLC) - Juniors at Lacassine High School had a Skype lecture with New York Times best-selling author, Hugh Howey, on Wednesday.

The class has been reading his series, Wool.

Teachers thought the online lecture would be a good learning tool.

"I did a little video recommending his book without him knowing about it," said Charla Arabie, Lacassine High School librarian. "He stumbled on it and he put it on his Facebook page."

The students had the opportunity to ask Howey questions about their readings.

"He and his wife are just wonderful people, said Arabie. "Hugh has Skyped with us three times for no charge and he has never asked us for anything."
